Protests lined both sides of Ontario Street on Wednesday morning as a series of anti-2SLGBTQIA+ rallies coined the “1 Million March 4 Children” took to the streets of various cities in Canada. In Kingston, despite protesters driving into the city to join, the “Million March” crowd was dwarfed nearly 2 to 1 by the pro-2SLGBTQIA+ crowd across the street who assembled for a counter protest. DENVER (KDVR) — Denver has given notice that it'll clear out an encampment near Governors Park in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.The area affected includes one square block bordered by Seventh and Eighth avenues and Logan and Grant streets. A 7-day notice was posted on Tuesday, meaning the camp will be cleared out by Sept. 26."What differentiates this from previous postings and cleanups is the huge effort of wraparound services being provided during the 7-day posting period, and more importantly, the connection of individuals living in the encampment directly to housing resources," Clarissa Boggs-Blake, manager of Denver's Joint Information Center, told FOX31 in an email.The JIC has been active as part of Mayor Mike Johnston's emergency declaration on homelessness. (KDVR) -- The Adams County District Attorney's Office has dismissed a criminal charge against a man arrested for violating a restraining order meant to protect the mayor of Thornton.Dariush Namazi was arrested on July 27 at an ice cream social event sponsored by the city of Thornton. DENVER (KDVR) — Assistant Majority Leader and Democratic Colorado Sen. Faith Winter underwent surgery after crashing while on her bike.According to a post on her account on X, formerly known as Twitter, the crash happened on Tuesday afternoon. Winter was riding her bike to the Capitol when she crashed into a curb while trying to avoid being hit by a large truck.Winter's team said the senator was wearing a helmet but she did sustain injuries to her head.
