WASHINGTON (AP) — Within hours of the horrific Oct. 7 attack by Hamas, the U.S. began moving warships and aircraft to the region to be ready to provide Israel with whatever it needed to respond. On Tuesday, more ships and forces were heading toward Israel, and other troops in the U.S. were preparing to deploy if called on.One U.S. aircraft carrier and its strike group is already in the eastern Mediterranean and a second one has left the U.S. and is heading that way. In addition, three Marine warships with are moving into the region. Scores of aircraft were dispatched to U.S. military bases around the Middle East, and American special operations forces are working with Israel’s military in planning and intelligence. CHICAGO — On Tuesday, city and private construction crews were busy going in and out of a plot of land in Brighton Park as a spot for a camp to house migrants.The site near 38th Street and California Avenue would be used as a winterized camp. (WFLA) — United Airlines will be completely changing the way passengers board a plane later this month. First-class and business-class passengers will still board the plane first as they do now, but then the changes start, according to an internal memo obtained Tuesday by WFLA. Sun Country Airlines on Tuesday announced new nonstop service to Toronto and Montreal, in addition to eight other seasonal destinations in the United States.The Minnesota-based low-cost carrier said the Toronto and Montreal service from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport will begin in June. An explosive device that detonated inside of a large teddy bear led to the arrest of a suspect and the seizure of drugs, weapons and ammunition.According to an Instagram post by the San Bernardino Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call from a local business owner who said he was told by witnesses that an explosive device had gone off in the parking lot in front of their business. The exact date or location of the incident was not released. A wildfire that erupted in rural Riverside County and scorched several acres east of Temecula appeared to be slowing down Tuesday afternoon.According to Cal Fire, the Stanley Fire started shortly before 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon in the 46000 block of Stanley Road north of Aguanga. “[The fire] is burning in medium fuels with a moderate rate of spread,” Cal Fire said on social media at the time the blaze began.
